Co-creation Hub, Nigeria’s foremost social innovation center in Nigeria, has announced the commencement of the Financial Literacy Challenge, an initiative with the aim of educating Nigerians on Financial Literacy through the use of Mobile Applications.

Collaborating with Visa, leading financial services provider in the world, this challenge brings together financial stake holders in the country, developers and designers.

The Financial Literacy Challenge

Developers are to assemble a team that will design a mobile application  (in one month) with the aim of teaching people financial literacy and at the same time be accessible on social media platforms (facebook, twitter, etc). This application should also meet the following requirements

Target Environment(s):

  • Basic Phones
  • Smartphones
  • Tablets

Target Audience:

  • Kids
  • The average “man on the street” Nigerian
  •  The literate Nigerian
  • The illiterate Nigerian

Judgment criteria (QUAR):

  • Quality
  • User Reach
  • Accessibility
  • Relevance

Prize money:

  • First: 1.2million naira
  • Second: .96million naira
  • Third: .8 million naira
