Has Jumia been hacked?

Over the past twenty-four (24) hours, some of my clients have informed me that they’ve received emails from jumia.com.ng about a transaction that needed to be delivered. Such an email usually comes with a call-to-action to open an attached document that unfortunately is a phished google sign-up page.

An example of the email is below

You can see that this is a very legitimate sender (@jumia.com.ng); however, the giveaway is that

This transaction was not initiated by the email recipient
The attachment is a “google.com” login page

Please if you have received such an email, delete immediately. If you had already filled in your personal details in the attachment, please change your email password (and all your password) immediately; it may have been compromised. Contact us (feedback{at}echo.com.ng) if you require further help.

I have contacted Jumia to take care of their email system as soon as possible.
